Hysteroneura setariae, commonly known as the rusty plum aphid, is an aphid species belonging to the family Aphididae within the order Hemiptera. This species is the only member of the monotypic genus Hysteroneura. As a true bug, Hysteroneura setariae feeds by sucking sap from plants. This species has been documented to occur in Yemen, and has also been recorded feeding on sorghum, other types of millet, and rice in the United States.
