Hypselodoris violabranchia has a light brown body marked with white spots and lines that run along its dorsum. Its gills and rhinophores are purple or pink. This species can grow to a total length of at least 35 millimeters. This nudibranch is only known to occur in the Hawaiian Islands, located in the central Pacific Ocean.
