About Hypselodoris roo Gosliner & R.F.Johnson, 2018
Hypselodoris roo is a species of nudibranch that has often been misidentified as Hypselodoris kanga. This species has a white body covered with large yellow spots and smaller blue-black spots. The dark blue spots located along the edge of its mantle are surrounded by a diffuse halo of bright blue. Its gills have orange-red lines along their outer edges, with a flattened region between these lines that holds opaque white spots. Its rhinophores have bright red clubs and red bases. While Hypselodoris confetti is almost identical in appearance to Hypselodoris roo, it differs by having yellow spots on the outer faces of its gills, with surrounding lines that transition in color from blue-purple at the base to red at the tips. This species can grow to a total length of at least 45 millimeters. Hypselodoris roo was first described based on specimens collected from Mainit Bubbles, Calumpan Peninsula, Mabini, Batangas, Luzon, Philippines, at coordinates 13.68802°N 120.95809°E. It has also been reported to occur in Indonesia.
