About Hypselodoris peasei (Bergh, 1880)
Hypselodoris peasei, first described by Bergh in 1880, has a translucent white body marked with longitudinal opaque white lines, and a blue mantle edge and blue foot. Black specks are commonly found on its upper dorsum. Its gills and rhinophores are white, each marked with two orange bands. This species closely resembles Hypselodoris bertschi, and the two have been confused with one another in the past. Hypselodoris peasei can grow to a total length of at least 20 millimeters. It has been observed feeding on yellow sponges that belong to the genus Luffariella. This species of nudibranch is only known to occur in the central Pacific Ocean, on the Hawaiian islands of Oahu and Maui.
