About Hypomyces papulasporae Rogerson & Samuels

Hypomyces papulasporae is a parasitic ascomycete fungus belonging to the order Hypocreales. It was formally described as a species new to science in 1985. Its type collection, which originated from New Zealand, was discovered growing on the ascomata of Trichoglossum hirsutum, commonly called black earth tongues. This species produces both Sibirina- and Papulaspora-like synanamorphs.
