About Hypomyces hyalinus (Schwein.) Tul. & C.Tul.
Hypomyces hyalinus (Schwein.) Tul. & C.Tul. is a species of parasitic fungus that infects fungi belonging to the genus Amanita. This fungus has a broad geographic distribution, with recorded occurrences in Eastern Canada, across the northern and southeastern United States, and in Eastern Asia including China. The full life cycle of H. hyalinus is not completely understood at present. Fungi in the division Ascomycota typically have a life cycle that alternates between an asexual stage called the anamorph stage and a sexual stage called the teleomorph stage, and each stage includes intermediary steps that differ between species.
