About Hypolepis muelleri Wakef.

Hypolepis muelleri, commonly called the ground fern or harsh ground fern, is a common small fern native to eastern Australia. It typically grows in swampy areas and along stream banks. This fern usually reaches a height of 30 to 100 cm and grows in an erect habit. Contrary to what its common name harsh ground fern suggests, its fronds are soft to the touch. This species was named to honor Ferdinand von Mueller, a colonial botanist. The original type specimen of Hypolepis muelleri was collected from Alfred National Park in 1941.
