About Hyphydrus ovatus (Linnaeus, 1761)

Hyphydrus ovatus adults grow to between 4.5 and 5 millimetres (0.18 to 0.20 inches) in body length. Its body has a rust-red coloration, and sometimes bears indistinct spots. Male individuals of this species have bright, brilliant body colors, while females have a matte body finish. This species can be found across most of Europe, the East Palearctic ecozone, and the Near East.
