About Hypericum dolabriforme Vent.

Hypericum dolabriforme Vent. is a semi-woody perennial plant that bears yellow flowers during the summer. It can be told apart from the similar species Hypericum sphaerocarpum by two key features: it has unequal sepals, and it produces more than one hundred stamens. This species is native to the Southeastern United States, where it grows in calcareous glades. It has a restricted native range, occurring mainly in Kentucky and Tennessee, with small range extensions into northern Alabama, northern Georgia, and southern Indiana.
