About Hypena manalis Walker
Hypena manalis, commonly known as the flowing-line hypena, is a moth species that belongs to the family Erebidae. Its geographic range extends from Minnesota to Nova Scotia, and southward to Florida and Texas. The wingspan of adult Hypena manalis measures 23–28 mm. Adults are active from May to September in the southern portions of its range, and from June to August in the northern portions. This species produces two to three generations per year. The larvae of Hypena manalis feed primarily on false nettle, and they have also been successfully reared on dandelion and dock.
