The red-throated twinspot, scientifically named Hypargos niveoguttatus, is also commonly called Peters's twinspot. It is a common bird species native to sub-Saharan Africa. This species has a large range, with an estimated global extent of occurrence of 2,000,000 square kilometers (770,000 square miles). It is commonly found in Angola, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Somalia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. The conservation status of Hypargos niveoguttatus has been evaluated as Least Concern.
