The Korean salamander (Hynobius leechii), also known as the Gensan salamander, has the scientific name Hynobius leechii Boulenger, 1887. It is the most common salamander species on the Korean peninsula, and it can also be found on Jeju Island as well as in the north-eastern Chinese provinces of Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang.
