Hymenophyllum demissum (G.Forst.) Sw. is a fern species that belongs to the family Hymenophyllaceae. This species is native to New Zealand. One confirmed location where it grows is the Hamilton Ecological District on the North Island. It occurs in Nothofagus-podocarp forests, where it grows alongside other understory fern species; a documented example of a co-occurring fern is the crown fern, Blechnum discolor.
