Hymenophyllum cupressiforme Labill. is a species of filmy fern native to the southern hemisphere. It is a small epiphytic fern that grows on tree trunks, rocks, and fallen logs. Its leaves are just one cell thick. The fronds measure 2 to 9 cm in length, the main stem lacks wings, and the main leaf is branched, toothed, 0.5 to 6 cm long, and 1.5 to 2.5 cm wide. This fern occurs in moist, sheltered locations within or near rainforests, and it can occasionally also be found in drier protected areas.
