Hydrangea involucrata Siebold is a species of flowering plant in the family Hydrangeaceae, native to Japan and Taiwan. It is a deciduous shrub that grows to 1 meter (3 feet) tall and 2 meters (7 feet) broad. It has oval leaves, and produces clusters of blue or pink flowers in late summer. Its specific epithet involucrata is Latin for 'with a ring of bracts surrounding several flowers', which refers to the fringe of sterile florets on this plant. This hydrangea species is cultivated for use as a garden plant, and several cultivated cultivars have been developed from it.
