Hydnocristella is a fungal genus that belongs to the family Lentariaceae. This genus is monotypic, meaning it contains only one single species: Hydnocristella himantia, which is found in North America. The species was first published under the name Hydnum himantia by Lewis David von Schweinitz in 1822. It was moved between different genera several times before being designated as the type species of the newly established genus Hydnocristella in 1971.
