About Hycleus biundulatus

The body length of Hycleus biundulatus ranges from approximately 15.4 to 32.8 mm. The head and pronotum bear moderately coarse, deep, dense punctures. The eyes are reniform in shape. The maxillary palpi have a strongly compressed, triangular apical segment. The pronotum has a depression along its median impressed line in its central region. The elytra have moderately coarse, moderately deep, deeply set punctures. Elytral pubescence is short; it is very dense on black areas of the elytra, but sparse on red areas. The basal region of the elytra has two reddish spots. These spots appear rectangular when viewed from both dorsal and lateral perspectives. The ventrum is opaque and has moderately coarse punctures. Males have a deep, round emarginate sixth visible abdominal sternum, while females have an entire or feebly emarginate sixth visible abdominal sternum.
