About Hubbellia marginifera (Walker, 1869)

Hubbellia is a genus of shield-backed katydids that belongs to the family Tettigoniidae. Only one species in the Hubbellia genus has been described so far: Hubbellia marginifera. H. marginifera is counted among the most rarely observed katydid species in the United States, and only approximately 40 individual specimens of this species have ever been collected. This species makes its habitat in the canopies of pine trees. H. marginifera is distributed across the southeastern United States.
