About Honora mellinella Grote, 1878

Honora mellinella is a species of snout moth. It was described by Augustus Radcliffe Grote in 1878. This moth is found in the southeastern United States, ranging west through Texas, Arizona, southeastern California, and eastern Washington. It has also been recorded in Oklahoma. The forewings of Honora mellinella measure 7–11 mm in length. Its larvae feed on the flower heads of plants from the Palafoxia genus, including Palafoxia arida.
