About Homostinea curviliniella Dietz, 1905
Homostinea curviliniella is a moth belonging to the family Tineidae. This species is found in Cuba and North America; within North America, it has been recorded across most of the eastern half of the United States, as well as in Arizona. The wingspan of Homostinea curviliniella measures approximately 8 mm.
Its forewings are a dirty yellowish shade, dusted with fuscous, and the very base of the leading edge (costa) is dark fuscous. Fuscous dusting is condensed along the costa, except for the final fifth of the costa. The very base of the wing, and especially the anal angle, is blackish, and a blackish spot sits on the costal half of the wing before its middle. A curved, more or less broken black line runs through the middle of the apical third of the wing, curving toward the dorsal margin and lying somewhat closer to this margin than to the opposite edge. There are scattered dark scales across the wing, which are more noticeable along the dorsal margin, and scattered whitish scales are present in the apical portion of the wing. The hindwings are greyish fuscous, with a faint brassy sheen toward the apex.
