Homalonychus selenopoides Marx, 1891 is a species of true spider that belongs to the family Homalonychidae. This species is found in the United States and Mexico, specifically within the Sonoran Desert. Its known reproductive behaviors are as follows. During courtship, males spin threads that have sand grains embedded in them, before moving toward the female. When mating actually occurs, the male drums on the ground using its first two pairs of legs. Females also add sand to their egg-sac when they spin this structure.
