Holopneustes porosissimus, commonly known as the short-spined urchin, is a species of sea urchin that belongs to the family Temnopleuridae. This species is found in southern parts of Australia, but it does not occur in Tasmania. Its spines are red, while its test is greenish-grey, and its body surface is covered in secondary tubercles. Individuals can reach a maximum diameter of 8 centimeters. It is a common species in waters between 0 and 30 meters deep.
