About Holcosus festivus (Lichtenstein & Martens, 1856)

This species, scientifically named Holcosus festivus, has a brown base body color, with darker brown markings that form a zig-zag pattern running down its back. It is visually similar to another related species, Holcosus quadrilineatus. Juvenile individuals of this species have tails with a metallic blue color. Its natural geographic distribution spans from southern Mexico all the way to Colombia. This species lives exclusively in open types of habitat.
