Histiogamphelus briggsii, also known as Brigg's pipefish or crested pipefish (along with other common names), is a species of marine fish belonging to the family Sygnathidae. This species occurs in shallow waters up to 30 meters (98 feet) deep, around the coasts of South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, and Northern Tasmania. Its natural habitats include reefs, seagrass beds, sandy beaches, and estuarine environments. Members of this species can reach a maximum total length of 25 centimeters (9.8 inches). Histiogamphelus briggsii is an ovoviviparous species: males brood the eggs and give birth to live young.
