About Hieracium scouleri Hook.

Hieracium scouleri Hook. grows in a range of different mountainous habitats. It forms a basal rosette of long, narrow leaves that measure 10 to 20 centimetres (3.9 to 7.9 inches) long, and the leaves are generally hairy to bristly in texture. This species produces an erect stem between 30 and 70 centimetres (12 to 28 inches) tall, which holds the plant's inflorescence. Each individual flower head has large, curling bracts covered in glandular hairs or bristles, along with long, bright yellow ray florets, and does not produce any disc florets. The achene of this plant is approximately 3 millimetres (0.12 inches) long.
