About Hexastylis sorriei Gaddy

This species is currently known by the scientific names Hexastylis sorriei Gaddy and Asarum sorriei. It is commonly called Sorrie's heartleaf or sandhill heartleaf, and it is a species of flowering plant in the Aristolochiaceae family. The species was first formally described by L. L. Gaddy in September 2011. Across its overall range, this plant is generally rare and found only in restricted local areas. It is only considered common at two locations in North Carolina: Fort Bragg and Camp Mackall, where annual burning is widespread.
