About Heuchera cylindrica Douglas

Heuchera cylindrica Douglas is a species of saxifrage that has basal oval to round leaves, which are often lobed or toothed. Its bell-shaped flowers grow in a spike on an erect, leafless stem that can reach up to 35 inches in height; flower colors include pale yellow, cream, green, or pink. This species is native to the Pacific Northwest, where it grows in rocky woodland areas, cliff-side ledges, slopes, and sub-alpine meadows. It grows best in humus-rich soil that gets plenty of moisture and drains well, and it can thrive in both sunny and partly shady habitats. The species is widespread and locally common, so it is classified as ecologically secure.
