The dark-backed sibia, with the scientific name Heterophasia melanoleuca (Blyth, 1859), is a bird species that belongs to the family Leiothrichidae. In the past, this species was treated as including the black-headed sibia, H. desgodinsi. Alongside most other sibias, the dark-backed sibia is sometimes placed in the separate genus Malacias. This species occurs in China, Myanmar and Thailand. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
