Heterophasia capistrata, commonly known as the rufous sibia, is a bird species belonging to the family Leiothrichidae. This species feeds on berries and insects. It inhabits the northern regions of the Indian subcontinent, occurring across India, Nepal, and Bhutan. Its natural habitat is temperate forests located in the Lower to Middle Himalayas. The rufous sibia has a highly distinctive appearance: its overall colouration is dominated by rufous tones, it has a black head, and it is often observed with its crest raised. It is known as a vigorous, melodious singer.
