About Heterometrus laoticus Couzijn, 1981

Heterometrus laoticus Couzijn, 1981, commonly called the Vietnam forest scorpion, is a species of scorpion that inhabits peaty areas of Vietnam and Laos. Adults of this species can grow up to 12 centimeters (4.7 inches) in length. It is classified as a communal species, but documented cases of cannibalism do occur, and individuals can be extremely violent even toward members of their own species when captured.
