Heterogenea asella, commonly called the triangle, is a moth species belonging to the family Limacodidae. This species can be found across most of the Palearctic realm. Adult moths of Heterogenea asella have a wingspan ranging from 15 to 20 mm. In a typical year, the species produces only one generation, with active adults flying from the end of May through mid-July. The larvae of Heterogenea asella feed on plant species from the genera Acer, Corylus, Fagus, and Quercus.
