About Hesperia pahaska Leussler, 1938
Hesperia pahaska, the Pahaska skipper, is a butterfly of the family Hesperiidae. It is found in North America across a narrow belt of states extending from Texas to North Dakota, just reaching southern Saskatchewan and Manitoba in Canada. Its wingspan is 28–33 mm. In the northern United States, its flight period runs from June to early July. It occupies habitats including desert grassland, chaparral, open woodland and prairie hills. Its larvae feed on blue grama (Bouteloua gracilis), fluff grass (Erioneuron pulchellum), other Poaceae species, and Tridens pulchella.
