About Hemiergis decresiensis (Cuvier, 1829)

Hemiergis decresiensis (Cuvier, 1829) is a thin lizard with smooth scales, short legs, a movable transparent lower eyelid, and no visible ear opening. This is a burrowing species, and each of its limbs only has three small toes. The upper surface of the lizard is a rich brown, marked with a small number of dark brown stripes or spots. Its sides are greyish brown with darker spots, and a narrow dark brown line runs along the side of the head and through the eye. The species lays several oval-shaped eggs, which hatch only a few days after being laid.
