About Hemicordylus capensis (Smith, 1838)

This species, Hemicordylus capensis, reaches a maximum snout-to-vent length of approximately 76 millimeters. Like its sister species Hemicordylus nebulosus, it has gracile physical features, with a phenotype that is intermediate between that of typical Cordylus and the larger, more robust Pseudocordylus. It has long limbs and long, slender digits. Some populations of this species are melanistic, and the species exhibits sexual dichromatism.
