About Hemerobius stigma Stephens, 1836

Hemerobius stigma Stephens, 1836 is a species of brown lacewing that belongs to the family Hemerobiidae. Its native range includes Europe, Northern Asia (excluding China), and North America. This species was introduced to New Zealand in 1935 to feed on adelgids growing in pine plantations, and it was first officially recorded as present in the country that same year. It failed to become a permanently established population in New Zealand.
