Hellinsia homodactylus is a moth species belonging to the family Pterophoridae. Its distribution includes North America, specifically the states of New Hampshire, New York, Maryland, California, Oregon, the Canadian provinces of Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, Alberta, and the region of Guerrero in Mexico. The wingspan of this moth measures 22–27 mm. The head is white, while the palpi and antennae are whitish. The thorax, abdomen, and legs are also white; legs are only slightly tinged with the ash-gray color cinereous. The forewings are white, with very faint dusting of brownish scales along the costa. A brownish spot sits before and slightly below the base of the forewing fissure, and a group of indistinct brownish scales occurs between this spot and the base of the wing. A faint indication of two additional brownish dots is present on the outer margin of the forewing. The hindwings and their fringes are pure white with a silky sheen. Brownish spots are completely absent in some specimens. Recorded larval hosts of Hellinsia homodactylus are Compsilura concinnata, Oxynops anthracinus, Pseudosiphona brevirostris, and Tachinophyto floridensis.
