About Hellinsia chamelai (Gielis, 1992)

Hellinsia chamelai is a moth species belonging to the family Pterophoridae. This species is found in Mexico and Costa Rica. Its wingspan measures 22 to 25 millimetres, which equals 0.87 to 0.98 inches. Adult moths have been recorded flying in Mexico during July, August, September, October, and December, and in Costa Rica during June. Overall, adults are on wing from June to October, and also in December. The host plant of Hellinsia chamelai is currently unknown. However, adult individuals have been observed flying during the daytime around the flowers of an arboreal Croton species.
