It is a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusk that belongs to Helicidae, the family of true snails. Individuals of this species create and use calcareous love darts. The native distribution of this species is pericarpathian. It has been recorded in Poland, Slovakia, and Ukraine; in Poland, it is classified as Near Threatened (NT), and was previously mentioned as lower risk (LR).
