About Heliria cristata Fairmaire

Heliria cristata Fairmaire is a species of treehopper that is classified in the genus Heliria. It was first formally described by Léon Fairmaire in 1846. This treehopper species occurs in the eastern United States, and its distribution extends from as far south as Texas to as far north as Ontario, Canada. Heliria cristata feeds primarily on black oak (Quercus velutina), though it has also been observed feeding on other oak species.
