About Heliothis oregonica H.Edwards, 1875

Heliothis oregonica, commonly known as the Oregon gem, is a moth species belonging to the family Noctuidae. This species was first formally described by Henry Edwards in 1875. Its range in North America extends from the Peace River area of Alberta, south and west through mountain regions to California and Arizona. A separate, disconnected population of this moth also exists in north central Quebec. The wingspan of adult Heliothis oregonica measures 24 to 30 mm. Adult moths are active and in flight from June to August each year.
