About Heliomystis electrica Meyrick, 1888

Heliomystis is a monotypic moth genus belonging to the family Geometridae. This genus contains only one species: Heliomystis electrica, commonly known as the electric moth. This species is found in the southern half of Australia, including the territories of New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, and Tasmania. Both the genus Heliomystis and its species Heliomystis electrica were first described by Edward Meyrick in 1888. The larvae of Heliomystis electrica feed on Eucalyptus dives and Eucalyptus obliqua.
