The red-winged prinia, also known as the red-winged warbler (scientific name currently Prinia erythroptera, previously Heliolais erythropterus (Jardine, 1849)), is a bird species in the family Cisticolidae. This species was formerly placed in the monotypic genus Heliolais. It occurs in Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Its natural habitat is dry savanna.
