About Heliodoxa rubinoides (Bourcier & Mulsant, 1846)
This bird species, Heliodoxa rubinoides, has green plumage on its upper body and iridescent copper coloring on its underparts. It has fawn-colored areas along with green and copper spotting. Its beak is long and slightly curved. This species, commonly called the fawn-breasted brilliant, is native to the Andes; different subspecies live on different mountain slopes. It is somewhat uncommon and has a patchy distribution, but the International Union for Conservation of Nature lists it as a species of least concern. It inhabits tropical forest.
