About Heliocarpus americanus L.
Heliocarpus americanus L. is a tropical tree that is native to Mexico across the country and to Central America. It is sometimes known by the common names majaguillo and majagua. In Costa Rica and Panama, it occurs in montane forests at altitudes ranging from 1,300 to 1,500 metres, which is equal to 4,300 to 4,900 feet. This tree produces pinkish-brown flowers in December and January.
