About Heliobolus spekii (Günther, 1872)
Heliobolus spekii, commonly known as Speke's sand lizard, is a species of lizard that belongs to the family Lacertidae. It was first formally described by Albert Günther in 1872. This species is native to East Africa and the Horn of Africa. Three subspecies of Heliobolus spekii are currently recognized. The geographic range of H. spekii includes the countries of Somalia, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. Heliobolus spekii reproduces by laying eggs, meaning it is an oviparous species.
