About Helianthus agrestis Pollard

Helianthus agrestis Pollard is a flowering plant species that can grow up to one meter tall. It bears flower heads with bright orange-yellow ray florets; each flower head holds approximately 10 to 15 rays and up to 50 disc florets. The plant's bright coloration makes it attractive to many pollinators. Its leaves are oval-shaped, attach to the stem via petioles, and grow in an alternate arrangement along the stem. The stem of Helianthus agrestis is branched, hairy, and covered in some pubescence. This species is native to Florida, and the only location outside of Florida where it is found is Thomasville, Georgia.
