About Helianthella uniflora (Nutt.) Torr. & A.Gray
Helianthella uniflora, commonly known as oneflower helianthella, is a North American plant species belonging to the Asteraceae family. It grows in the western United States and western Canada, with a recorded range extending from British Columbia south to northern Arizona and northern New Mexico. This is a herbaceous species that can reach up to 120 cm (3.9 ft) in height. Its leaves grow up to 25 cm (9.8 in) long, and each leaf has 3 prominent veins that run along its full length. The plant typically bears only one yellow flower head per stem, though it may occasionally produce 2 or 3 heads. The flower heads do not nod or hang. Each flower head holds 11-21 bright yellow ray flowers, which surround numerous yellow disc flowers.
