About Helcystogramma triannulella (Herrich-Schäffer, 1854)
Helcystogramma triannulella is a moth species that belongs to the Gelechiidae family. It was first formally described by Gottlieb August Wilhelm Herrich-Schäffer in 1854. This species has been recorded in south-western and south-eastern Siberia, the Caucasus, Transcaucasia, Kazakhstan, Korea, Japan, China, northern India, and most of Europe. It is not found in Ireland, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Denmark, Scandinavia, the Baltic region, or the western Balkan Peninsula. The wingspan of adult Helcystogramma triannulella ranges from 12 to 15 mm. In southern Europe, this species produces several generations between May and October each year. The larvae of Helcystogramma triannulella feed on Ipomoea batatas, Convolvulus arvensis, Calystegia sepium, and Calystegia japonica. Larvae live inside folded leaves that they hold together with silk they spin.
