Hedychrum rutilans is a species of cuckoo wasp, which is an insect belonging to the family Chrysididae. This species is primarily found in Austria, Italy, Bulgaria, Greece, France, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, and also occurs in North Africa. The head and thorax of Hedychrum rutilans are metallic green with red spots, while the abdomen is red. Males of this species have overall more green coloration that is partially golden, while females have more extensive golden-red coloration across their body. The body of Hedychrum rutilans is somewhat hairy.
