About Haplotrema concavum (Say, 1821)

Haplotrema concavum, commonly called the gray-footed lancetooth, is a species of predatory, air-breathing land snail. It is a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusk that belongs to the family Haplotrematidae. This snail is native to humid hardwood forests of eastern North America. Its range extends from southern Canada and the Great Lakes region, southward through the Midwestern United States (including eastern Nebraska and Oklahoma), and continues through the Southeastern United States, which includes the Gulf States. It also occurs along the Apalachicola River in western Florida and Georgia. Haplotrema concavum inhabits leaf litter near the base of trees, or the area underneath rotting logs.
